Really useful post OP, hope as many people as possible whose dogs aren't microchipped take up this offer. Microchipping your pet is one of the best thing you can do for it. If the RTA dog we had last week had been microchipped, she could have woken up from anaesthetic to the comforting words of her owners- not me!
Saves dogs going into pounds if found wandering because the dog wardens always carry scanners with them.
There are just so many good reasons to have your dog (and cats) microchipped.
Even though it will cost the Dogs Trust to do this for free, it's cheaper than them having to take in dogs that are lost as oppsed to dumped, and really is in the best interest of the dog.
It would be nice if people could give a small donation to cover the cost of the chip.
