New House - Boiler problems!

Can anyone help, we've just moved into a new house at the end of September with my 6 year old son, the house has a Potterton Suprima 50L which has required constant restarting to get the water and heating on (often during the night).
These were on watchdog and have massive PCB issues.
The boiler was serviced supposedly by heateam on 24/08/2012, around 3 weeks before i moved in. From the day i moved in it has been temperamental and a google search suggests a new PCB could be required first. I'm asking my solicitor where i stand regarding this as a service was specifically asked for and so i expect theres some warranty on anything done.
A call to potterton was absolutely disgraceful as they wanted £275 just to come out and when asked if the fault was the PCB and if they would refund this they said no.
I've looked at service cover etc but not sure which one to go for and if its worth it. My energy supplier is scottish power and their reviews for boiler cover are terrible.
As the boiler is meant to be flawed with problems i'm not sure if i should just bite the bullet and buy a new boiler if getting a service is only going to cause me problems in the long run.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If heateam serviced before you moved in there is usually 12 months warranty maybe you should contact them as they should have picked up any problems"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0
