Halifax Clarity Card Application

Has anyone else found problems with applications to the Halifax? I have signed and returned a Credit Agreement but received an e-mail a week later asking me to complete and return it. I then find that there is no way to communicate with the Halifax other than by phone on a line that is only available until 6 p.m. All I want to do is to confirm whether they have the the agreement and to send another if they haven't.
Halifax have no substitute for e-mails (like Secure Messaging, for instance) so I now have no card to use on holiday from this weekend. I am trying to pursue this with the Halifax by using their on-line complaints form but no response after four days so far.
Are Halifax this bad for everyone?

  • I found Halifax quite slow when I applied for my Clarity in the summer. I put it down to the fact it was the summer and lots of people applying for the card as it's one of the top cards for use overseas. Another thing I find annoying about them is the way that every time you try and do something like activate the card, inform them of your travel plans or set up online banking you get so far online then you have to phone them. Twice when I tried to set up the online thing I got cut off mid-call.

Having said all that I am now happy with the card and used it this summer in Slovenia, Austria and Italy without any problem. I just think Halifax are quite security conscious, more so than any other cc provider I've come across.

Happ to both me and wife said had not recieved form, left it and within 2 weeks they had it so very slow and we both got the reminders
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • Thanks for the responses!
For information, I now have a second Credit Agreement - the first was "lost in the post" according to Halifax.
Expected delivery of card is two weeks - 5 days after I return from holiday.

They took a few weeks when applied for a Rewards Clarity Credit Card way back in 2012. But you could try these numbers?
