Icesave - setting up a DD

Hi all

I opened my Icesave account last year and set up three DDs at the time of application.

I've now deleted one and want to set up another. To do this I must fill in a form and send it back.

Am I being blonde here or is there nowhere on the form which asks for your Icesave account details? All it asks for is your name and your "other" account details (account number, sort code and address).

So how does Icesave link this DD form to me when I post it to them? What if they have another customer with the same name as me?

I'm convinced there must be a simple explanation but I'm b*ggered if I can think of it.

BTW I've never filled in a DD mandate before, only ever given instruction over the phone.

That's weird, I've been directed (through online banking) to this form:

    https://online.icesave.co.uk/ofis/pdf/debit_form.pdf

Can you give me the URL of the form you have posted please?

    ta!

I just signed up for Icesave tonight and am having a hard time understanding this, so I hope it's ok to barge in. I've completed the account setup and I then get to a screen saying the following:
    Make your initial deposit
You have chosen to transfer funds from another bank or building society account to make your initial investment. You now need to contact your bank or building society and ask them to send payment to the account detailed below.

For BACS payments quote your unique reference number ************** as the payment details/reference.

For CHAPS payments, quote Icesave as the beneficiary and include your unique reference number ************ as payment details / reference.

If you do not include your unique reference number it may result in a delay to the funds reaching your account.

Our Account number: ********* Our Sort Code: *******.

This option should only be used for your initial investment. Your bank or building society may charge for this service.

Alternatively you can wait for your User ID to arrive and make your initial investment from one of your nominated bank accounts by logging into your Icesave account and selecting 'Make a Transaction'.

I might be being thick but I don't understand. When I set up the account I already told them to take £250 and confirmed the DD form on the screen. I'm worried about contacting my bank and having 2 lots of £250 transferred. How would I do this anyway, do I just need to phone up Natwest?

I think I'm missing something obvious here but any help would be appreciated. I'm happy to just wait and do things online if that's an option.

The DD was to set up your future payments from your linked account. This can take up to 10 days to be set up. Meanwhile they ask you how you want to make the initial investment and you can transfer this from another bank account either using online banking or telephone banking.

However it's alright just to wait until everything is set up with your Icesave account and then do it online that way.
