Having a daughter who indeed loves aliens & dinosaurs, I sort of agree with your general sentiment. However perhaps the poster knows her own daughter well enough to "make judgements" on what she would like??? I think your post comes over a little harsh on the poster who made the comment...

You are so right with your response! I do know my daughter wouldn't like them and she was with me when I opened them and showed no interested in them.

And just so u know Jap200 she has alot of books that are not 'just for girls' and the same with toys. In fact she is getting some cars and a car garage for xmas!!

Apologies for sounding harsh, I did not mean to offend and I agree that I could have phrased my comment so much better - or kept it to myself!

However, I was only making the point that it is a shame to categorise books for boys or girls, as it is better to select them based on our knowledge of our own child - or to let them choose. KayleighJ's post in resonse to my comment does indeed say that this is what she does, but my comment was triggered by her earlier post which stated that some books "would be better for a boy", and that is what I thought was a shame.
I did not mean to hijack this thread or draw attention away from the main point, which is the exellent value bundles spoted by KayleighJ.
  • Just received the crime pack, as follow

Hanning Mankel : The Man Who Smiled
Susan Hill : The shadows in the street
Karin Slaughter : A faint cold fear
    Kathy Reichs : Deadly decisions
Agatha Christie : The Mysterious Mr Quin
    Peter Robinson : Dead Right
Lynda La Plante : Blind Fury
    Martina Cole : Close
Jo Nesbo : The Devil's Star
    Patricia Cornwall : Port Mortuary

All paperbacks, but a good selection, and I'm sure my parents will enjoy them.

  • not exctly whsmith bundle related, but bookpeople have some good bundles, with titles known etc before you get them - I was looking through for kids so not sure how comparable others are - think a voucher has just been posted for free delivery on board, or will be soon :) hth :)

  • I got two packs of the picture book bundles this morning and, whilst they are still worth the money (even with 5 duplicates), the range is not as good as last year's. This year they are all paperback and last year I got a good selection of hardback books too. Can't grumble though.
