Widening Access Bursary choice.

I will receive a Widening Access Bursary and have to choose whether to have a £1000 fee waiver or £1000 on my university account to pay for printing, library fines and food from the canteen (I think). I think I will get this every year. Which should I choose?
My course is 4 years at £9k per year and I hope to earn about £35k when I graduate. I think because I'm a mature student that I probably won't completely pay off my loan before I retire. Would having £4k less to pay off my loan benefit me in any way at all?
So I suppose it makes sense to have the £1000 put onto my university account but am I really going to spend that much a year on printing and food? I thought £100 would cover my printing, library fines and the occasional snack (I usually take food with me) per year.
Which option should I choose?

What would happen if you were to put £1000 on your uni account and not use it? Would you get it or would it go back to the uni?0

Thanks for replying. I think at the end of the course (so in four years) I can apply for a refund of any money remaining and pay a £10 administration fee. However I don't know if they will refund it if it was 'free' money or if there is a maximum amount that they'll refund. I suppose I need to find this out. It would be nice to have a huge refund in four years time though.0 -
There isn't really any point in borrowing £4K less, particularly if you're unlikely to ever repay it. An extra grand a year to spend is likely to make your life easier and lead to better results.0

£30 a week roughly. 5p a copy say, say 100 sheets a week is a fiver and £25 on uni food. Is it available? edible?I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Well, if you are getting towards the end of the year and have loads left, you could release some of the cash and help out your fellow students by printing stuff for them at 4p a sheet...?
Or selling them lunch a bit cheaper than they can buy it from the canteen themselves...?0
