New Downlighters

Hi All,
I am currently looking at downlighters for my living room and would like to keep away from GU10 as they are quite power hungry.
Can anyone reccomend where I can buy a complete setup for this type, I know B&Q sell the GU10 as kits, but seem to have trouble finding an led version.
Thanks to anyone who replys

I would say around upto 100 notes.
Was thinking about a GU10 kit from B&Q then buying the GU10 Led bulbs.0 -
I like the Ledino stuff from Phillips ..But it is not cheap ..
Worth looking on amazon.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Philips-69077-Ledino-Recessed-White/dp/B004CSL4Z6/ref=sr_1_54?s=lighting&ie=UTF8&qid=1350411513&sr=1-54
It is dimmable which is something I think is important.....Although my first attempt at this will need a new dimmer as such low watts don't dim as they should ..I had to stick one standard GU10 back in to up the wattage .
But I like the idea of an enclosed system rather than bulbs and housings.0 -
GU10 led's work well I have my house full of em. I imported a large quantity from China. And am selling on the rest for £4.50 each.
The fittings i bought from Screwfix. Bought packs of 10 with halogens as they were cheeper than I found elsewhere. Though for your living room I would have thought 6 would be more than enough. Just depends on how bright you want it.
Don't buy your LEDs from srewfix though, at £10 each it soon adds up. Check ebay for them, other websites, or msg me. 4.5w should be ideal and for your living room you will defiantly want warm white ones.
Also do you want the light concentrated downwards or do you want it to light up the sides of the room as well? SMD's have a wider beam angle so light up the sides of the room better, but some people don't like the look of them.0 -
Given the price of these LED bulbs I would like something reliable.
Several years ago, I bought 4 LED bulbs from B&Q, advertised as up to 30,000 hours. About £8 a pair. Well one failed after about 50 hours and I had to spend about 20 minutes arguing before they backed down and replaced it. Fortunately, none of the others have failed since.
I bought an LED light for a table lamp on ebay and that failed after less than 3 months. This whole market could benefit from some reliable brands.0
