Hi All
I have a number of laptops and one PC that I am looking to back up to an external HDD and then mirror that HDD.
Need some recommendations for the following software, preferably free but I'll pay if it is worth it:
1. I have alot of duplicates of photos and documents and am concerned these will clog it up. Is there a program that will root out and delete duplicates.
2. A reliable software that I can use to zip (or similar) the files.
3. A simple to use, effective and reliable back up program, preferably that incorporates no 2. above.
Thanks very much

From the 2nd link I use Macrium for imaging.
Most imaging apps have selectable levels of compression built in so you won't need to zip.604!0 -
macrium reflect free (imaging is better than mirroring) and doublekiller is one of many free duplicate file finders, but it won't be able to scan inside a disk image backup or across multiple systems easily, so it's better to put the master copies on one machine, then delete duplicates, then back that machine up.!!
