The Kaspersky rescue disk has an integrated file manager - use that to copy files to a USB stick.

Update...
Went in to BIOS? by pressing F2 on start up.

The only thing I could see that could be changed was USB BIOS Legacy support....Enable/Disable--- Left it as Enabled

SATA0 Mode: Disabled/IDE/AHCI

It was set to AHCI, so I changed to Disabled but when restarting machine it was saying operating system not found.

So went back and changed that to IDE. Now in IDE the windows loads and for a split second I see the desktop and then the white screen comes on and there is only the cursor. Nothing else is under my control and I can't see anything on desktop as the dreaded white screen is covering it all. I can't switch off or log off, apart from the hard shut down by pressing power button 9 when it starts to shut down again I see the desktop for a split second).
I will try and run the KRD again and see what happens... if only I can see or get to the desk top I might be able to shut down some processes via taskmaster (ctrl+alt+del)

When you run the rescue disk before you do anything access the File Manager and save any files you want to keep (eg: the photos you mentioned) by copying them to a USB stick.

Success!! Thanx Guys...

Ran KRD again twice and the second time it found another backdoor trojan...on top of 16 it had already deleted/disinfected.

So managed to get control of the desk top now.

Just going through the processes running now and googling to see which ones should be running legit and which are rogue, if any.

Post a DDS log - it should take 2-3 minutes.

Download DDS from the link below and save it to your desktop:

After you've downloaded it and saved it to your desktop:

• Double click DDS to run it.
• When it's finished, DDS will open two logs:

1. DDS.txt
2. Attach.txt

Save both reports to your desktop.

Copy & paste the contents of just DDS.txt for now and post it here (you may need to split the log over separate posts)

OK Waddler-8 will do.

A couple of things have happened since this issue....

The MSE (microsoft security essentials ) has stopped working, also not updating and also the IE has also stopped working. i,e no internet.

Just in process of running Malwarebytes and it has found 3 objects already on quick scan.

Not sure if the machine is fully clean.

I have uninstalled the MSE anti virus, will download avast and use that, as MSE is not doing the job.
Fingers crossed it doesn't crash again when I restart:eek:

Whilst it's not essential, I'd consider backing up data, and wiping it, and starting afresh with a disk imaging backup procedure in place.
