  • Just got a nesting set of 3 white wicker baskets lined with pink and white gingham material from Home Bargains in Derby (they also have some with blue lining in). They're not bad at £4.99 for the set largest one is approx 40cm x 26cm x 13cm deep smallest is 26cm x 16cm x 10cm deep. I'm off to Poundland on Sunday to see if I can find anymore, then it's time to start putting things together! :T

I bought some square baskets from Tesco for 47p each, they are not as nice as wicker ones but I am going to spruce them up with some ribbon.

I'm liking the look of this website - for gifts aswell as baskets, seems reasonably priced so I will have to take a closer look and see who else I need to buy for!!!!

Hi I just found this thread. I've been using baskets for my hampers this year, but for my mothers (I'm doing her an organic foods hamper) I'm using a wooden orange box/crate I got free from the fruit man at my local market. I just asked and he says he chucks them so he gave me one. Free!!! I think I may paint it a darker colour with the kids paints but it suits food hampers. I still think the pamper hampers look better in baskets though. Have to go back and get some more as my local fruit shop only uses cardboard crates which def. doesn't quite have the same look!!!:T

At Morrison's today they had a set of three dark coloured wicker baskets beautifully lined in a striped material for £7.99. They looked very smart and expensive. Appears to be one of their latest "offers".

    Thought I should measure these!
    Largest: 16" x 14" x 8" high
    Smallest: 11" x 9"

    Hi there,

Got these for 50p from B and Q yesterday! Brilliant quality too. You can check stock online and I would recommend doing so before you go. I went to three in my town and only one had them.

    http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?action=detail&fh_secondid=9372041&fh_start_index=6&fh_location=%2f%2fcatalog01%2fen_GB&fh_search=seagrass&fh_eds=%c3%9f&fh_refview=search&ts=1193919024276&isSearch=true

They're down as being £5 down from £24.95 on the website but I got mine for 50p. They're even worth the 5 quid in my opinion - great quality and three in a pack.

    Good luck!
