hi all,ive absolutely no idea about buying houses as this will be our first.so excuse me if i write something stupid!
my query is that my partner and i currently rent,he is self employed and a new zealand citizen with a nz and brit passport, living here for the forseeable future.im currently not working.
We would like to get on the property ladder back in nz as we hope to go back but have no idea how to go about it.we are currently saving and know the exchange rate is good and prices there are alot cheaper. But don't know about getting a mortgage, here or there?
also will we get one because he's self employed??we plan to rent out the property for about 5 years while living in uk.
Has anyone any ideas about it?done similar? His current earnings are quite low but we hope to have a 10% deposit and buy for approx£120,000.
he earns abt £12-£15k pa plus potential for rise this year and bonuses, plus i get abt £4k in benefits.
Do you think its poss?
Thanks for any advice.
