1 Month Notice to Quit - what if Landlord does not accept?
Comments
-
It was on my original post, apologies for not making it clearer.
The problem is that after giving a 1 month notice, the Landlord is saying I should give 2 months notice instead.
I believe 1 month notice is valid, but I was asking if I was right (which seems I am if I can prove we changed the rental period), and what could I do to make the Landlord accept this notice.
What is this "shelter" you mention please?
And thank you all again for your help, much appreciated
Edit: I guess is england.shelter.org.uk ?
You are being far too vague, please give specific dates of what notice you served and what specific notice the landlord is asking for. You said nothing about two months in the OP you appeared to be talking about 11th to 10th or 16th to 15th both of which are one month. Does your AST specify two months notice to quit if so what is the wording of the clause?Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0 -
Your tenancy periods begin the day after your last fixed term ended regardless of when you pay rent. What date did your last fixed contract end? If it was 12/04/12 then your tenancy periods are 13th to the 12th of the following month and you must give at least a whole tenancy period as notice.Don't listen to me, I'm no expert!0
