What type of security should the router have,as in wep or wpa etc.There are a few showing like wpa or wpa personal or wpa personal 2,which is best?

WPA2 Personal with AES is the one you should use, then for your Passkey (PSK) you should use something long and random over an easy word, you can always write it down so you don't have to remember it and any device will only have to have it entered once and it will remember it.
eg: dshfj347edf28wq034%2e904 is a very good passkey, something like 'sausage' is not0 -
