Online estate agents?

I'm planning on putting my flat on the market in the very near future, and have been looking into online esate agents. High street ones are so expensive, and i need to spend as little as possible on selling so i have more money for a deposit on a new place. Has anyone had any experience with online esate agents and can you recomend any?

As per Googler...search for names such as HouseNetwork, HouseLadder and HouseSimple. In fact a search of Google for 'Online Estate Agents UK' gives 120 million results.
As a matter of personal opinion, I have detailed my experience of HouseNetwork on more than one occassion.Debt Free! Long road, but we did it

Yep, we used Housesimple.co.uk who were very good (sold relatively quickly - 2 months, definitely worth it as we saved about £3K), some of them look pretty dodgy but I think as long as they are regulated by the Property Ombudsman (TPOS) then you should be fairly safe.
The key seems to be getting on Rightmove etc. What attracted us to Housesimple was they seem to be the only one who offer a nothing upfront option. As I was a bit wary I didn't want to risk paying anything upfront. It was a slightly more expensive choice of option but we still saved a huge chunk. And every little helps these days!
So if you're concerned why not try what we did as you have nothing to lose other than time! :rotfl:0 -
I used 121move.co.uk and sold my house this week in just over 2 months, had to pay £114 selling fee upfront then £600 on completion so alot cheaper than a highstreet agent. I would rate their service as fairly good. Worth a shot.Win's of 2014 so far-Maxfactor mascara, £50 Pizza Express Voucher, Dr Oetker Pizza, Nuby sippy cup :j:beer:0

You will see in previous threads that I was very satisfied with Housenetwork's service, I had a particularly difficult chain below me and my buyer's conveyancers would not communicate with mine which delayed the completion no end.
Danielle at housenetwork was the one who latched onto the delay and persevered daily to finally conclude my sale. I see that other clients have praised her efficacy too on HN site.
My house was on rightmove within 24hrs and HN send a regular report showing rightmove stats so you can see how popular your house is on there.
PQXALIGMWQ is my affiliate code which gets anyone a 5% discount at HN, just as I got my 5% discount off Housenetwork by finding a code from another MSE'er on here0 -
Online agents are the way to go. You can save a huge amount of money and remain in control of the sale.Je suis sabot...0

I used hatched.co.uk. They advertise on all the major property site and do everything an estate agent does except drum up viewers (not really needed seen as most people look on the internet for what they are interested in) and you have to show the viewers around. We used them a couple of years back and we were sold within 8 weeks. It cost us about £450 total, and I'm sure the maximum they charge anyone is about £500. The adverts they put on rightmove, etc, have a lot of detail and photos. On their website, it tells you about the interest in your property. Highly recommended0
