At least if people tell rescues that they dont want their kittens any longer, at least mum gets spayed. In this case, chances are is that mum will still not be spayed, and there will be another dumped litter in a few months time from the same place.
Sadly, dreadful as it is, that's a relatively civilised abandonment compare to other method.
Why cant people just get their animals neutered, no way are we a 'nation' of animal lovers.DONT BREED OR BUY WHILE HOMELESS ANIMALS DIE. GET YOUR ANIMALS NEUTERED TO SAVE LIVES.0 -
I totally agree with you Moggymutt.
My little Lucy-fur was rescued with 2 her kittens (Abby & Ziva) she was only 6 months old still a baby and already had a litter

What is it with black cats being abandoned more than most others, i have a lovely black mog and would have more black mogs but the oh says the 2 cats we have is enough
There's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. It's the place where a part of you will forever be a part of me.

Valkirn have you seen this - http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cambridgeshire-15495259
Funny my Lucy is a black cat too. So is my Hades and they have the nicest temperaments. The vet said it's something to do with their serotonin levels. It's the same reason why tortie''s can be a bit stroppy.
It just amazes me that people still carry this fear of black cats. There is a woman who refuses to walk past my house if my two are in the front garden
It's also the reason my two are not allowed out for pretty much the whole of the end of OctoberFirst Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
Faith177 ive read a few reports like that, and have to agree alot of it is superstision (sorry cant spell),
My Mog (and mog is his name) turned up on my windowsil one morning hes was only a youngster, and took a shine to my baby daughter (probably the smell of milk) we put posters up all over advertising him but on one came forward
We have since found out from one of our neighbours he was part of a litter from a lady a few doors down who has admitted since she couldnt even give him away free
her cat (mogs mum) was inherited pregnant, from a relative she has since been spayed.
On a happier note my daughter and Mog i think were destined to be best buds as they share a birthday he also gets on very well with Meg our other cat lolThere's this place in me where your fingerprints still rest, your kisses still linger, and your whispers softly echo. Awww that is so sweet Valkin

When I first got Hades the owner only lived round the corner but Hades mum visited our house every Sunday morning for months almost like she was checking she was ok.
They still see each other when their out and about and they always stop and have a play it's lovely to see.First Date 08/11/2008, Moved In Together 01/06/2009, Engaged 01/01/10, Wedding Day 27/04/2013, Baby Moshie due 29/06/2019 :T0 -
