Data recovery from Acer Travelmate 4220 Laptop

I have an Acer Travelmate 4220 laptop that has been wiped in error is it possible to retrieve the old data? Can anyone recommend a good data recovery company? or is there software available that would allow me to try myself?


Also need to try and recover data from an old Blackberry Curve 9300?

I have used PC Inspector File Recovery many times with success. I see it has been awarded fewer stars than the others mentioned!

As long as you don't write any new data to the drive, it should be possible to recover your data, but I would get the help of someone who has experience in doing this if you are at all unsure.

a vista/w7 full format, or xp? If the latter, you could try a recuva deep scan (in a usb caddy), if the former, your data is probably gone

I've just powered it up and all i get is a blinking icon in the top left corner.

elaborate, how and why was it wiped, with a boot cd?

does it do the same if you hold down the power button for 10 seconds, and power on
