Good, pleased it worked out. Hi Mindless Clone,
Used standard second class delivery, Think it took about 9 days including the weekend to get to them so it was a bit on the slow side!Everyone has a dark side... apparently mine is called Harold?!? :huh:0 -
Not true - it does protect you from Item Not Received claims if the tracking shows delivered - which it does circa 95% of the time.
He said "sending recorded gives no more protection than sending with POP"
This is absolutely true.
If a buyer claims item not received, a seller is still covered with a bog standard proof of postage. (providing the item is worth less than £46)
Why would any seller spend 95p on recorded delivery so that they can claim back for lost items when they get that service free of charge anyway?
It is complete madness to ask a buyer to pay this 95p.
I see so many sellers selling low cost items with recorded delivery. Its no wonder they dont get many good sales.0 -
Think what you like about what i'm going to say, but I am a casual seller (the type who has a clear out a few times a year) who chooses to send via recorded.
I've been stiffed in the past, 3 items went missing in one batch I sent out. It hit me hard because I was going to the USA for 5 months with sporadic internet access and trying to claim back from RM just proved impossible in the end.
Most buyers and sellers are indeed genuine, however IF by sending recorded, I cause a 'chancer' to reconsider claiming INR, then i'm happy to pay that. I don't overcharge on my postage, in fact the last lot of things I sold I undercharged the RM price.
I understand what you're saying about the protection being no greater than 1st or 2nd. But to me, paying for recorded could stop me getting stung by an 'opportunist', and then having to spend time and effort reclaiming.
It takes me about 5 mins in my 9-5 job to earn 95p. It would take me much longer than 5 mins to reclaim from RM.
So whilst you may not agree, hopefully you can see where i'm coming from.0
