Alliance and Leicester sold my debt to Wescot, but they will not give me a break down

A couple of years ago I went overdrawn on my account by a matter of pennies, I have constantly requested a break down as I intended to appeal against the charges they slapped onto my account. Luckily I managed to change my details and didn't lose much money in the process, however they claim I owe them over £300 now and Wescot are hounding me with letters threatening to send debt collectors to my house. This has in turn gave me bad credit and I am un-able to even open another bank account (I'm a student and currently have a student account but I wish to open a standard current account and I cannot do so). All of this confuses me a hell of a lot, I know Wescot are trying to scare me into paying the money but I will not, I owe them nor Alliance and Leicester a thing. I want to appeal against the charges and against the bad credit score I subsequently have. But i've no idea how to go about doing any of this and am in desperate need of direction and help. I really want to get this sorted and done with. Any help is so greatly appreciated.

On what basis are you hoping to reclaim?
It can't be for hardship as it's not your main, current account.
As you don't know why or what charges were applied, I don't see how you would believe they were inappropriately applied.
It's not "a first time offence".0
