I've used free sms sent from my PC for a while(http://www.cbfsms.com/), but does anybody know of a system that can show your own mobile phone number?

And O2 will give 10 free messages a month to customers of any network. Just open a My O2 account and go from there.
You can find paid services starting at about 2 pence each, such as Fishtext, which is associated with cbfsms0
