Cupboard/under stairs lighting recommendation?

I live in rented property, and have an under stairs cupboard that is very dark.
Can anyone recommend battery operated lighting that is good?
Obviously I don't want to have to pay for a proper light to be installed (and the landlord won't put one in).
I've tried the small push LED lights, but they don't last 2 minutes. Are there any other types I can try that would be more reliable?
Any sensible suggestions appreciated

I have a couple like this that I keep for emergency lighting.
There are different sizes. Mine are about 150mm diameter & take 4 batteries.
e.t.a.
Online / eBay may not be the cheapest. I've seen ones like this quite cheap on the high street. Local ironmonger, Wilkinsons etc.0 -
I have always used push lights, got mine from Poundland a few years back. I have found it lasts well if I do not tell anyone else it is there! I found if the kids used it they forgot to turn it off and it lasted no time at all!
Another thing I have found works well (between replacing batteries in the above) is to just get an LED bike light and hang it in there. Only has to be a cheap one. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -
I have a wind up/clockwork storm lantern that I keep for emergencies or whatever, might be an idea if you can afford to wait a few seconds while you charge it.;)I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.
Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)
Always expect the unexpected:eek:and then you won't be dissapointed0
