How can Cameron adopt a pro Union stance without canvassing the populace of England; Wales and NI ?

It's because Cameron, along with most Tories, is a Unionist

Having just returned from the Western Isles it is clear that vast swathes of Scotland are dependent on subsidy to keep them viable whether that be from the Union, Scotland itself or from the EU. As many areas lose there young in search of employment and the "capitalist" life style I can see a need for a new Wall and strict immigration/border controls should they go down the independence route.

You can't be "independent" and use someone else's currency - ask the tramp cadging 50p for a cup of tea.
Independence means having the power to print your own notes and bankrupt your own pensioners if you want to.

Something like 50 percent of the jobs in Scotland are public sector. Will the majority be repatriated to England?
  • The single most effective campaign tool the unionists have is to show pictures of all the Scottish MPs currently clogging up Westminster with the caption "we'll be sending them all home to you."

In fact the Tories still don't want Indian independence.

I'm not surprised. In 150 years, it will be India sending food-aid to the UK. All our kids will be studying Urdu at university and working in call centres for Tata, Hero, Hindalco, Sun Pharmaceuticals....

Why does one small part of the union get to decide if the union continues. Those of us south of the border should be entitled to vote for Scottish Independence too. Send them off on their own, let the rest of us get on with things.
