Whether it is seen as pressure depends on the tenants viewpoint and how much they have had to put up with to date. Not everyone wants or needs money, some just want quiet enjoyment and time to find the right home. Why do you need them out so quickly? You said in the OP waiting two months was not a problem.

  • He has not had to endure any harassment or disruption whatsoever. I don't think a quiet offer of this kind made with no obligation constitutes pressure. I'm fine to wait, yes, but would of course rather be in a position to complete pre-xmas.

    Am i reading this correctly? You're now thinking about paying more money out to cover the vendor's back? I can see them and the tenant sat round having a good old laugh about that one.

    What is your protection to make sure the tenant does move out after this bung? Will you be suing them while they continue to live there and your mortgage offer expires? Will you STILL have to evict them through the correct legal procedure? (of course you will)

    Sorry, i am being harsh now but stop being a mug. Tell the vendor to sort his own mess out.

    Edit: even offering to pay after they've gone guarantees you nothing, in fact they may just agree in order to buy extra time. That would leave you even further away from moving in.
