Help car insurance question

Hello
I was involved in a car accident in which the other party was responsible. Whilst we've exchanged contact details and have had some correspondence over the quotes I've obtained for repairs, I'm concerned that they will not pay. Initially the other party suggested that they wanted to settle privately (outside of their insurance) so I didn't get her insurance company details. However the quotes are a little more than they were expecting and they've 'gone very quiet'. I only have 3rd party fire and theft insurance on my side. If the worst happens and the other party won't pay or refuses to act, what are my options and what can I do?
Any suggestions very welcome.
Thanks
C

You should find out the insurer now! Use askmid if you experience any problem.
Contact them and ask them to deal with your claim.0 -

If you have legal expenses cover on your TPFT motor insurance then they will refer you to a solicitor who will manage the claim for you.
Alternatively find an accident management company that will deal with it for you - if you google you will find some will actually pay you to allow them to represent you
Finally find out who the TPI are via either your insurers or the AskMID website and pursue them directly.0
