Recommendation for a laser printer

I've about to run out of ink in my printer and given the cost of replacement inks was thinkingof getting anew one as our HP is coming up to a decade.
Ideally I'd like a colour/scanner/copier (which does double sided prints) - someone at work suggested that a laser printer would be good, but I don't have a clue.
Any suggestions welcome.

If you print photo's then laser will not give anywhere near as good as an image as inkjets (unless you spend serious money, ie 800+). Also the toner is expensive, about £80 per colour.
Have you thought of a continuous ink system with a normal multifunction device.
If you excuse the nerdy voice then this video shows you what a CIS is

The bulk ink bottle costs bring the price down a lot.0
