Jerking Astra - can you help please

Options
Hi,

I don't know if anyone has any ideas what I should do.
I have a five year old Astra, and since the end of Feb it sometimes jerks, or jumps forwards a little, when I accelerate, but the majority of the time it is ok.
The garage have taken it for a test drive and found nothing, they checked leads, spark plugs etc, but they will charge me £50 to give it some sort of check where they attach it to a computer.
I did used to use supermarket ( Tesco) petrol, but the last time I filled up there was the 2 Feb, which I think was a good few weeks before anyone reported any problems with Tesco's petrol.

Any ideas on what I should do next, someone suggested REDEX, would this boe worth a go?

Any help is much appreciated.
Thanks

REDEX seems worth a go to me!

Otherwise, get on the internet and do a search for a Vauxhall Astra Owners Club/Forum. Always worth joining anyway, but they will probably have a more specific answer to your problem.

I am no expert in property but have lived in many types of homes, in many locations and can only talk from experience.

They are fine thanks - the garage has checked these.

I had this problem with my Kia and it started running like a bag of bones! I took it to the garage and they said no problems and I happened to mention to a friend that I had used this place in particular for petrl and she said 'never use that place the pumps are dirty and my mechanic has seen a lot of damaged cars'. I litterally had to run the car dry and refill it again. Give that a go, if you ave not done this then there might be something in the fuel pipe or at the bottom of your tank that needs clearing. Now I never use that garage, it might be somewhere like a little garage - I have alway used Tesco for fuel and my car has been fine.

The check is called a diagnostic and its prob worth paying to have it done. There are loads of little sensors in a car, particularly newer ones, if one has a prob the diagnostic will pin point it and in the long run save you money. Instead of the gargae replacing parts that dont need replacing they can find out exactly which one needs doing. If its not doing it that often, personally I'd live with it, down to you really.
