advice on drawn out Ebay trans as a buyer?

Just after a bit of advice.

I won an auction on 03/10. I paid within seconds of it ending. I waited patiently until 10/10 to chase up the fact I'd heard nothing from her in the time between. Simple question - have you shipped yet?

She replied within minutes that no she had not, list of various excuses advised she would either ship at the weekend or refund. I want the item to replace something in a set I've worn out but the rest of the set is still good, so advised ship at weekend but a heads up she was going to be so late would have been nice - she replied with whatever it wasn't my priority due to the sob story of excuses given in the first email.

She marke shipped with second class royal mail on Friday. Nothing has shown up Saturday or today (Saturday was a long shot I knew.)

Do I need to do anything at this point IE should I be worried this item is never coming and open some sort of case? Worried I'm leaving myself open to no item and no comeback due to the length of time it's now dragging on?

Cheers!

You have 45 days to open a case so plenty of time yet should it not arrive this week.

I trust that you are thinking carefully about feedback once you receive the item. At the least they deserve very low stars.

But don't make the stupid stupid error that I did and tell them over a message you are going to leave them neg, ebay then removes the feedback - doh!

A 2nd class parcel posted Friday is not due until Tuesday onwards. "Choose Second Class mail for cost-effective delivery in three working days". Chill out - its only been ONE working day!!

Agree with poor feedback though - for initial crappy response.
  • Don't worry. She was in for her first neg from the minute she told me that it wasn't her priority to at least let me know her circumstances were going to make getting to the post office hard for her for 2 weeks. She was clearly glued to her Iphone enough to answer my 'where is it?' email in seconds so I would figure that she easily could have said to herself, 'let me take 3 mins to email these people who have won my items and paid me for them that I'm going to struggle to post their things for over 10 days.'

If she'd at least been appologetic I had to chase her, I'd have understood. It was her rather cavalier 'I know I've had your money for 10 days but you can just wait til I sort my life out' tone that really got my back up. If it doesn't show today I'll open a Not recieved on the assumption she only pretended to ship it out of spite for me not going OMG I'm so sorry your life is so hard, please take your time with the item I've already paid you for! Too bad really as she has nothing but good feedback to press. I don't really get this stars thing but she's getting 1's.
