SKY box with dodgy connection

I am having a continuous issue with my SKY box in that every now and then it will lose the picture and say 'no satellite signal being received'. To start with I just put this down to SKY and / or weather conditions, then to faulty cables.
However, I believe I have now narrowed it down to the connection on the back of the SKY box where the SKY cable goes in (is this the coax cable - forgive my igornace). When I lose the satellite signal now, if I just wiggle the connection on the back a little, then the signal and picture return.
My question is this - if anyone else has had the same problem, what have they down to resolve it? Can it be fixed easily? Or can I purchase another box (e.g on Ebay) and just swap them over, by inserting my SKY viewing card in the new box? Or will I need to call SKY and get an engineer to come and fix it?
Any help would be most welcome.

This could be the box or the satellite cable. Make sure it is screwed in tight and the cable is not loose.Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0

If you swap your Sky digibox you will need to contact Sky with the serial number of the new box to have it linked to your viewing card.0

Only if using premium channels.Things that are free in life are great, well most of the time :beer:0

I have checkED that both the cable and the connector itself are both screwed in tight. Then, like I said, when the signal disappears if I slacken the connection then wiggle it about a tad the signal will more often than not return.
As for premium channels, I currently subscribe to the full packed (I know, it's a con) so I guess I would then have to contact SKY and let them know about a new box. I'm premusing its cheaper that way than calling out a SKY engineer to fix it!?0 -
Whatever you do, make sure you unplug the Sky digibox from the mains before you undo the coax feed, this is due to there being a voltage output from the box to feed the dish LNB. If the output is accidentally shorted you risk damaging your Sky box.0

This is a common problem on older Panasonic Sky Digiboxes. Cured by fitting a Panafix2d filter or by changing the LNB.0
