Halifax - need to reduce the interest!

have a halifax credit card not used for years trying to pay balance of, but at the moment can only afford the minimum payment, I am roughy paying about £5 of the balance :mad:

can I ask them to reduce to the interest? whats the best way to go about this?

You can call and ask them to switch you onto a better product, but they are under no obligation to do so. Do you have another card with available credit to do a balance transfer?

If you haven't defaulted or entered into a DMP, they don't really have any reason to do it.

You can ask, but probably won't get, you can ask them to freeze any increase and not use the card again.

Have you considered a 0% BT card?
