Not working age DLA

All posts seem to relate to working age DLA, how are any retired people affected? If someone retired is getting DLA when and how do they get assessed?
Thought it was it was a worthwhile question.

I think that as long as you've claimed before retirement it continues on but if you need to claim after retirement you claim attendance allowance , I think thats how it works...

Indeed, that's the position as it stands.
In order to change DLA for non-working-age people, it would need new laws to be introduced, the current round of legislation bringing in PIP for working age DLA does not give the powers to bring in PIP for non-working-age, and there are no announced plans to do this.

However, as non-working-age DLA /AA is a large population of people, getting a substantial amount of benefit, I would be extremely surprised if the government is not looking at reducing this bill somehow.
Either by means-testing, or by reassessing people under different criteria.
