In any PPI mis-selling complaint you have to address it to the organisation or individual who actually sold it to you.0

My first initial letter was to Ford in Epsom who sold me the PPI but was told not them, have written Ford Credit directly and Aviva but no one taking responsibility. Thinking about using a company now to try and help.0

A company won't do anything more than what you've already done, and then, when they see what you've done, they'll charge you. So don't bother.
WHoever sold it to you in the first place, i.e. whoever you got the credit with, the lender, not the broker, is the one you complain to.
However, depending on when you had this loan, you may not be able to claim anyway as it may be pre-regulation..Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
the seller of the credit/ppi is the firm responsible. Aviva are the insurer and Ford Credit are the lender, neither are the seller.
the ford dealer is the seller and responsible for the complaint.0 -
The current Ford dealership in Epsom is Dagenham Motors, a trading style of
Ford Retail Limited
2 Charter Court
Newcomen Way
Colchester Business Park
Colchester
Essex
CO4 9YA
Tel 01206 754 600
Fax 01206 754 608
If it was Dagenham Motors that arranged the credit, that is who you complain to.
However, since you have already written to them and they said "not us" then either they have failed to respond to the complaint properly or they are telling the truth (the fact that you addressed your complaint to the branch rather than head office is irrelevant).
So you can go to FOS now if you wish.0 -
Hi,
Just wondering if there was an outcome to the Ford Credit PPI claim. I too was pushed into having PPI from Essex Ford 6 and a half years ago. I paid off my car in March 2009 ... is it too late to try to claim missold PPI.0 -
Hi Madcat and DCaiger,
I was wondering how you both got on? I appreciate this is a while ago, but I'm in a similar position, so any advise would be very appreciated.
Kind regards

General rule of thumb is that you complain to the dealer as the dealer has liability for the sale of PPI. However, if it is before January 2005, then most dealers were not regulated and can reject the complaint as pre-regulation.
Some people then try the lender and insurer. In rare cases, it does work where the dealer was a the sole agent and representative of the company. However, in most cases, both will state they have no liability (and in most cases, they are correct).I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
