computer printer problem

printer Lexmark X5200 all in one - never had any probs before. Old computer died, was running windows XP. New computer running system Windows 7. I cannot install the printer as message keeps popping up saying NO DRIVERS FOUND. THE OPERATING SYSTEM IS NOT COMPATIBLE.
Am really annoyed as printer was working fine before.Have been on Lexmark site for help, but don't understand techie speak.
Does anyone know if there is anything I can do, or does it mean buying a new printer?????

You could contact them to ask if their advice for using vista drivers has changed, there is a live chat link on the left

It would appear from looking at their site they haven't created drivers for the X5200. It states the drivers should be embedded in Windows 7.

Have you installed any software for the printer? If you have, uninstall it. Then restart the PC and once everything has settled, plug the printer in to your usb port. Hopefully Win 7 will pick it up and install drivers for it.
