Attendance Allowance Help

My uncle gets AA at the lower rate, it was awarded as my Aunt needs to help him during the night, he has to get up quite a lot and needs help to get in and out of bed.

For about a year or more I have noticed that she needs to do more and more for him, she helps him wash and dress, walks behind him on the stairs.
He needs help withh all of his personal hygiene, and cannot get himself a drink or anything to eat.
She seems to do everything for him now, I suggested that they should be getting the higher rate AA but she is worried that she may not fill the form in properly and they may stop what he does get.
MY aunt does get Carers Allowance and she is concerned it will all stop if she asks for more AA for my uncle?
What do you experts think, and how does she go about this, does it have to be a new claim?

They need to ask for a review. This can be done by contacting them.

It would be useful to keep a diary of his care needs for a week and also evidence from his doctor that his care needs have changed.

When you ask for a review, you need to contact:

You will normally be sent a review form to complete. If your condition improves, you also need to get in touch with the Disability and Carers Service as soon as you can. They will normally send you a review form to complete, so they can re-assess your award.
