After nearly fainting with shock at how many units we use a day (20) we decided to switch everything off leaving essentials on (fridgefreezer and 2 fish tanks) to see where it all goes - and discovered that my 2 fish tanks take up 6 units of electricity a day!!!!! So hubby's computer stuff wasn't to blame after all. So if anyone is wondering if you are in fact serving the entire street, it may be worth doing this little experimant first.
The heaters have now been turned down by a degree in the tanks as the weather is getting warmer now anyway and I don't leave the tank lights on for hours at a time!

If you wait for perfect conditions, nothing would ever get done! :T
