Hi,
im after some advice i applied for DLA last April and was turned down so i put in an apeal and just coped (struggled) and thought that they had for gotten my claim or that it had been disregarded. Any way my condition worsened 2 months ago and i decided i really needed more help with my care needs so reapplied for DLA within 5 days of posting the form of i get a letter from the tribunal services sayng that my case is due to be heard this week on friday.
So it has been over 18 months since my claim was first sent of and since then my condition has got worse i now have the appeal to go to and a fresh DLA claim going through.
I have submitted more evidence for my appeal but a lot of it is recent reports will these be taken in to account?
And is it in my best intrests to go to the apeal in person? if so what are they likely to ask?
Any tips or advice would be helpful.
Thanks in advance.

Always go to the appeal in person, otherwise a decision would be made on papers only. Take as much new evidence with you as you can.
If you can take someone with you when you go, if you can't get a welfare rights adviser take someone who knows about your condition,.

It is worth going, your chances go way up if you appear in person. (In general).
The recent evidence is only relevant as it reflects your condition last April.
They cannot consider more recent changes, and for them to do so is an error of law, which the DWP may challenge.
In addition.
You cannot get DLA unless you have had a condition for 3 months, and are likely to have it six.
They will ask anything and everything that helps them understand your condition last April.
This can be in some cases, quite in depth, but they need to talk to you and question you to get a better picture of your disability.
I am unsure if it's possible to withdraw your new claim for DLA.
It may have the unfortunate effect of terminating any award made by the tribunal if they decide you're not entitled.0
