looking for cheap domain registration and hosting for a simple site any ideas

for domain registrations i have used with success:

https://www.123-reg.co.uk/

both cheap and do the job.

for hosting i use https://www.dreamhost.com i like it, has a nice control panel interface and allows for expansion, may not be cheapest but if you compare it against anything other than the uk's most basic servers then it really starts to compete (does come with a free dot com address) if you do like dreamhost give me a shout pleaase

Force9 offers internet access and, IMO, one of the best bundled web hosting packages for a ISP. Most of the packages include a domain name.

Your link is for an ISP. It's not really what zero is asking for. There are plenty of web hosting companies out there that don't require you to switch ISP.

34sp.com (for a true cheap budget!), oneandone.co.uk and pipex.co.uk are your best bets for a host....

should you wish, try uk.tophosts.com or tophosts.com who do like a hosting ranking system each month - that way you know who to reliably go with rather then a companies own testimonial pages off their website!

I use http://www.astra-systems.com for my hosting, will do everything to help you get up and running at no extra cost. They charge $30 per year (approx £15) which is very cheap!!
