Please help
British gas have just been to my elderly parents home to fit a new smart meter.
On checking the cooker, fire, boiler etc...
They have just condemned the boiler
This is a total nightmare, they now have no heating and will never be able to buy a new on.
They are in their 70's and have no saving, is there any help they can get from anywhere?
Thank you

Sorry I can't be of much help but have you contacted Age UK? They may not be able to help you directly but may be able to point you in the right direction for any financial help your parents could be entitled to in order to fund a new boiler.0

Me too, thank you0 -
As above, might be worth getting a second opinion.
If a new boiler is needed they might be able to find some help - Age UK are a good start, but you may also have some luck with the British Gas Energy Trust.0 -

If they are elderly and recieve benefits such as pension credits or income support etc they would be eligable for a Warmfront grant which would get them a completely free boiler.
