Best Tariff

I watched Martin on This Morning talking about switching Utilities Companies with interest about getting on the price fix tariff for 2 years. I am with Npower on spreading warmth tariff being a pesioner on limited income. It would appear that there is no fixed tarriff for 2 years on the spreading warmth tariff. I would have to go onto a new fixed price tariff and these have daily standing charges of approx 10.29p for Electric and 44.31p for Gas on top of the fixed tariff so would in the long term cost me even more money. So how do people like me find a cheaper tariff fixed for 2 years? Answer we can't. I think it's time the people made their feelings felt and lobbied Government to stop these price hikes, after all aren't we supposed to be in a double dip recession?

I'm also on the Spreading Warmth tariff (pensioner, limited income, no room for manoeuvre). I've given up trying to find a cheaper deal - comparisons make my brain hurt and then I get annoyed that these deals are so complicated and keep changing. Who needs all this hassle? I can't even remember what 'benefits' you get with Speading Warmth, let alone how they might compare with other schemes. It's a way of life to bundle myself up in warmer clothing for the winter and to keep on the move, but I feel sorry for those who can't help themselves in this way, for whatever reason. BTW if anyone has a good cure for a cold nose - it's always my nose that gets cold first - please do share ;)
  • what people dont realise is when going for a fixed tarriff, each and every new one that comes out the price of each new one is ALWAYS higher than the previous one, in essence price hikes in itself.its just another way to earn every extra penny they can from millions of people who are duped into these thinking they are actually deals
