Advice needed please - landlord considering deducting from deposit

  • Yes, I completed the tenant part of the joint claim form two weeks ago. I did email the DPS on Sunday to ask for advice but have not yet heard back. I'm off work tomorrow so might give them a call.

    I don't know if it will be a problem or not, but when we initially took the tenancy it was for 12 months, but decided to stay there for another 12. On the DPS website it says tenancy start date as 30th September 2010 for 12 months - the agency obviously didn't change anything with them.

    Raise a dispute with DPS, you don't need to ask them to do that AFAIK. Your tenancy did start that date and has been continuous since, you started a new fixed term not a new tenancy.
