Child Tax Benefit

Hiya

Ive got a quick question, on 20th september I got my final decision letter from tax credit office after submitting my partners self employed earnings.

Then on 2nd October I received a amended tax credits letter form them, now absolutly nothing has changed with my claim, all the figures etc are the same but they have cut my child tax credit.

I this normal - do they normally change it after sending out a final decision?

Are they both for the same year?

An amended notice can't be sent out after finalisation unless they have opened an enquiry, an appeal is successful or there is some sort of official error.

Check the tax year on the amended one. Is it 12/13? If so, then that doesn't relate to the same one as the 11/12 final.

D'oh, glad I asked on here now before phoning them, the amended reward is for this year & the final was for last.
