Value Chocolate

I wonder if anyone else on this forum likes chocolate?... On occasion there will be a bargain to be had in regular grocery shopping, but not regularly enough for me.
Any advice for regular supply of good value chocolate? I'm not super-fussy about brands, but do quite like Galaxy/Dairy Milk, obviously would like to steer clear of really grim "alternative" brands.

Costco normallydo choc offers current one is 20% off Cadbury Maxi Mix Treatsize 45 count making it £3.98 per pk. each 'treat' works to near enough 8p. Not that I can stop at one.

I agree with Browntoa. Aldi's basic chocolate at 30p for 100g is lovely, far better than at Tesco, but don't buy the larger blocks as these work out dearer per 100g

However is it cheap for you to buy and store or cheap to buy as you go? As you know many offers to be had pre and post christmass / newyear.

I no longer buy chocolate on offer to save as I will eat it all:o. But will buy what I need which for me works out cheaper, even when I end up paying full price as it cuts down on the amount of choc I do eat.

Perhaps you need to 'buy' some willpower;)
  • Have you tried Lidl's 29p chocolate? It's lovely, you can tell it's the nice European stuff. My mum is on first name basis with the cashiers since she buys it so often, and I find the value dark chocolate quite nice. But I may be alone on this.
  • I am also a big fan of Lidl's chocolate - their 29p bar is lovely, creamy and milky - their thicker bars of hazlenut is also very nice.

Tried that and the only thing that works is having to spend more then when in a sale.

Have willpower just not where chocolate is concerned :(
