Hi
has anyone had any experience with the AA Savings Account?
it looks pretty good with 5.31% AER gross (0.6 bonus for first year)
http://www.theaa.com/savings/index.html
A&L wont let me have a savings account with them for some reason so im putting £10,000 of my savings into the AA for a year as they have the next best rates.

leki - sorry I have no experience with AA.
But interested to learn Alliance + Leicester won't let you have a savings account with them. Do you have the current account with A+L? No doubt you are attracted by the 5.35% rate for their Online Saver account. A+L failed to properly link mine from their current account, but soon rectified it when I emailed. Folk here on MSE report that, transfers between A+L accounts are same-day about 90%+ of the time, instead of taking the "24 hours" mentioned in Terms.0 -
Hi
i have no idea why they wont let me have a premier plus account with them.....i meet all the requirements they stated on thier site. I dont have a current account with them but they sent me the forms to try and get me to get one as they wouldn't let me have the other one. i have no interest in that current account though.0 -

Yes, it's fine.
I was very impressed by the speed at which they set it up. Completed an online application on Wednesday afternoon, and by Friday morning all the paperwork had arrived and the account was fully operational. So less than 48 hours to get the whole thing up and running.
The only glitch was that I then had problems accessing the account online, but their tech support people were very helpful. Turned out that if I'd read the troubleshooting section of their FAQ's I could have solved it myself very easily.

Do you need Online Saver or Premiim Plus account? :mad:leki wrote:...i have no idea why they wont let me have a premier plus account with them...
You do not need PP account to have Online Saver. You can link Online Saver to any other current account with A&L or other bank. Just apply for Online Saver directly. Sign up through Linemypocket and get extra £6 cash.0 -

They do a credit check for the PP (overdraft etc) so maybe that is the problem0
