Hi,
I already have 2 speakers and the subwoofer from the Samsung HT-Q100 (dvd player doesn't work so we want to connect the speakers directly to the tv). I may buy 2 extra speakers for this set later.
I need to know what equipment I need to connect up my LCD tv, Xbox 360 and the speakers.
Cheapest possible options would be great.
Thank you!

I would suggest going to Richer Sounds and getting a bundle pack.
There are cheaper options, but sometimes cheaper isn't always better...0 -
Sorry to sound daft but what sort of bundle pack should I ask for? What will be in it?2022 wins: PS5 bundle, SSD drive, luxury truffles

Just had a quick look at the sound system and its a full theatre kit which means also an amplifier. So your above question depends on the TV but you will need an amplifier if your TV doesnt have one so it can power the speakers. I find using a micro hifi works fine with the aux input setting but thats not using those speakers. Other than that, you may need to buy a seperate amp0

The TV is Sharp LC46XD1E, I don't think it has an amplifier. Can anybody point me in the direction of a good one?
Will I need anything else to connect everything together? My tvs audio out is two little holes, one red and one white. Will the xbox 360 need to be connected to the amplifier?

your best bet is (as mentioned) to go to richer sounds and discuss your needs with them.
They'll be able to get you set up with an amp and speakers probably for £200-300ish. Sounds like a lot, but will sound a lot better than a one box solution, and you'll be able to upgrade bit at a time if you want to from then on.
You'll then need to hook the 360 up to the amp, probably best using the optical out.0 -
i agree with the above posts . get your self down to Richer sounds explain your situation and let them advise.they are used to people in your situation and i have never had nothing but exceptional customer service from them with well over a dozen purchases, even when my new speakers devolped a fault they bent over backwards to sort it out .
they always have a loads of excellent 2nd hand 5.1 amps in , and you can get a good bargain usually.
the thing i really like about them is they will say something is crap if it is crap. even if the crap item is the more expensive of the ones on sale.Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:0
