Redundancy Entitlement

Hello,

Just been advised that I and around 40 others are being made redundant next september due to relocation.

I have worked for the compan for 9 years and the companies poicy for redunduncy is;

5-10 complete years service= statuatory number of weeks at normal pay or statutory redundancy pay, whichever is greatest.

I take this to be the statutory amount as £430 according to the Government website as being greater then my weeky wage of £313 - so I should be entitled to the greater amount?

Please can I have your thoughts on this?

Thanks

    No, redundancy pay is capped at £430.
    As you earn less than this you will get you weekly wage ie £313.

    If someone earned say £490 they would only get the capped amount of £430.
    make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
    and we will never, ever return.

    Statutory redundancy is a weeks pay CAPPED at £430 so I think they mean they won't cap the pay.

    They should really be consulting and looking to prevent the redundacies,

    is relocation not an option.

    What are they offering for 10+ years there may may be age discrimination issues.

    if over 41 this should be 1.5 weeks for each complete year over 41.
  • Hi,

    The package for over 10 years service is;

    Statuatory number of weeks at normal pay plus Statutory Redundancy Pay.

    There are three locations in the UK which they are moving into one location in Sussex - really not an option for me to relocate.

    Thanks
