Life Before Comping?...

I was just wondering what did everyone do before they got the Comping Bug?..

I can barely remember what it felt like to have free time that was free time and not free time for Comping :rotfl:

I think of all the time I used to waste online with no reward!

I was a midwife & a very busy one at that, had to retire very early due to ill health, and then found the comp board :)

Now instead of my life revolving around babies, it revolves around comping :rotfl:
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.

i've been comping since the early 70's :o won my first sunday paper crossword back then :o:D:rotfl::j:D
but in them days it was snail mail  collecting labels from tins/ doing tiebreakers :D loads of postcard entries etc  i used to fit them all inbetween dinner breaks/tea breaks in the day when working & in the evening the nights were took up with completing the puzzles in the mags/newspapers, filling in the ef's :D
when the comps started coming online to enter was even better :D it's hard to remember when my life didn't revolve round comping :o

I spent the time doing Facebook games. Then discovered comping. I then realised would I be rather spending my free time grooming a pig and developing a virtual farm for no recognition other than constant popups asking me to buy an instant plant grow potion for 50 Facebook credits or entering competitions with the chance of having something to show for it in the end?

It was a no-brainer decision in the end. Been comping since.

nothing very much exciting for me, i started as i was long term unemployed and struggling to gain work so it filled time in between job hunting! it really bites though no matter what im doing i think ok i need to catch up on my comps before i do anything else!! its a hobby that dissapoints way more than it pleases but i cant walk away now, life would become boring if it wasnt part of my life lol is that sad!!??

Yeah, having a life - I can vaguely remember that, before comping as you say. Does anyone know of a comp where I might win having a life again? :D

Before comping I was, and still am, a gardener. But also I was writing 'the novel', and that's all but gone now. Any time for writing now is for writing a caption, slogan or something funny in 50 words or less :o
