Move area? Stay local? Can't decide...

Im still undecided. Perhaps I need to get better organised and spend more time with family without moving area and see how that sits? Or like Missile says, look at houses both areas and go with what feels right rather than it being an issue mainly in my head0

Let your house and rent one in the new area: if it's great sell up, if it's terrible move back.Declutterbug-in-progress.⭐️⭐️⭐️ ⭐️⭐️0

Well ive made a decision- Im not moving yet. I cant make my mind up and it's clouded by needing to look at new jobs, which is actually more pressing. So Im going to get on with that and then look again at moving, and where to, in the new year
Thanks for all the helpful comments, will bear in mind when I start again on the moving path0 -
I've just come across this thread, so I'm going to put my two pennyworth in even though it's come to a natural conclusion. Two things leap out at me - 1) you love your house. That counts for a lot. Home is where the heart is. You can't take your house with you, and you'll never find one exactly the same. Not never. 2) if it's only the way the neighbourhood has changed that is the problem, why don't you make it your mission to change things? Join neighbourhood watch or somesuch, just to make you feel you're doing something about it. Oh, and 3) nearly 50 isn't old!!! You do NOT need to be thinking about limited mobility and suchlike. Yes, of course that day will come, but maybe not for another 30 years or more (my Mum is 82 and can still run for a bus if she needs to) - don't make yourself old before your time!!
Glad you've made a decision. It'll all work out in the end.
PS I'm 51, and when I turned 50 I told the kids that I'd made it to half way. You should have seen the look on their faces!!!No longer a spouse, or trailing, but MSE won't allow me to change my username...0
