Presumably it is quite a long file of the day ie. 2 or 3 hours which means it will be a large file and most email providers will not allow an attachment of this size. Easiest way is to ask her to go to https://www.wetransfer.com and upload the video file to this, before uploading she just enters your email address too so once it uploaded you receive an email with a link where you can then download it.0 -
Ah ofcourse, it is 3 hours long! Thank you

Uploading won't do it, as the DVD Video file is likely to be more than 2GB.
She will need to 'rip' to a file first at least.
Magic DVD Ripper will do the job. First five rips are free.
Can choose .wmv or mp4. Hopefuly that will keep it with the allotted size. Then it can be uploaded for you to download.0 -
A little old fashioned perhaps but for a file of this size i'd say that burning a new disk and popping it in the post would be the best option. Alternatively it could be placed on a pendrive and again posted, you can always send the pendrive back afterwards.0

The easiest is to ask her to burn it to a disk and post it.0

What is the file size?
You cannot possibly email a 3hr video, most ISP's have an attachment limit of around 10-20MB.No free lunch, and no free laptop0 -

Sorry, I was being presumptious and guessing it was already in a file format ie. .avi or .mpg. You can't upload a video file it is in VOB or VIDEO_TS format, you would have to convert to one file first then upload. Even then, my suggestion of wetransfer only allows up to 2GB (again this slipped my mind) If it were me, i would just upload to one of my sites (therefore the size is irrelevant) and the recipient could grab it that way however clearly not everyone has these resources at their fingertips so depending how tech savvy you are, the good old burn to DVD option may be best.0 -

You could just ZIP (or RAR) it. But it would still be too big.0 -
Easiest way is to put it on a DVD and post it via Royal Mail.
Second class post it would have got there by now lolI think the surest sign that intelligent life exists elsewhere in the universe is that none of it has tried to contact us.0 -
