iPod help please, can't sync a movie - URGENT.

I have an iPod touch 2nd gen.
I'm lending it to DS, so today decided to clear it down, so thru itunes restored it to factory settings. That updated the iOS to 4.2.1. I also changed it's name
We have put his music and a couple of apps on it. I've bought a movie from iTunes and downloaded that to my PC, but in iTunes, when I try to drag that from iTunes to the iPod I get a message.
(inverted commas contain the name of the movie, and the name of my iPod)
"film" was not copied to "your iPod" because you are not authorised for it on your computer
So how do I authorise this iPod on my computer - I don't remember having to do this before.
