Help with credit card decline reason

in Credit cards
Ok, so I applied for the Flybe Card and was declined. I have sent in an appeal letter 7 days ago and also emailed them on Friday to ask if there was any update. I have had an email back today but it doesn't mention the appeal and i have no idea what to make of the reason they gave me for the decline.
They tell me there are 4 main reason for a decline.
1. Information from credit reference agency.
2. I may not of passed Creations Internal lending score.
3. Specific internal lending rule that they apply.
4. Key fields in application that may not of been completed or are inconsistent.
It says i have been declined due to internal lending rules that they apply and that they cannot tell me the specific field that applies in this instance!
What does all that mean?
Do you think they have looked at the appeal letter, or are they just responding to the email i sent about the original decline.
Many thanks

It's something they will never tell you I'm afraid.
Edit: Sorry Sammie, I have re-read your post and I dont know what answer you are seeking?0 -
Just wanted to know what 'internal lending rule' means.
From the list of 4 reasons they have given, they haven't turned me down due to something on my credit file or cause my 'score' wasn't enough, or cause the application wasn't completed properly. It was because of their specific internal lending rules.
Just wanted some sort of idea what that could mean.0 -
it means their own lending criteriaDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Thanks for your replies. Looks like i will have to stay with sub prime for a while longer then.
Unless you know if there are any other credit cards that are in the middle of sub prime and prime?
Wanting to get away from sub prime if i can.
If it helps, i have had trouble in the past. I have a satisfied default and a couple of old accounts at a linked address that had missed payments, all due to come off file in 10 months. The only other thing is a late payment 19 months ago, genuine mistake. Thought i had paid everything due when i went in hospital, but missed one.
Everything else paid on time, vanquis has increased my limit 3 times, i got accepted for the capital one progress card 18 months ago. Catalogues have increased my limits from £300 - £3600 in 18 months.0 -
Creation used to do store cards, did you ever have a store card from the likes of Fosters, Burton, Dorothy Perkins that kind of thing and then not pay?
You say there's still stuff to come off your account, maybe it's that?0 -
No none of them. The 2 accounts were a mortgage and secured loan. We got behind and then re mortgaged and paid them off.
I thought i would have a good chance with creation as i have car HP with them, taken out 18 months ago, no missed payments. At that time i had all this info on credit file plus a ccj which has now come off!
I did have a fridge freezer from currys on finance in 2006 which was probably through creation, paid off over 4 years, again no missed payments.0 -
They wont tell you or anyone else their criteria policy as you could manipulate future applications to suit your own needs.0

Okay, debt to income then?0

Hi Rich, yeah that could be the problem. Total debt £22,000, total combined income which it asked for on Flybe £43,000. Current available credit £11,000 which is mainly the catalogues, they have approx £10,000 available credit. I thought about reducing the limits but read so many conflicting posts about the effect it has on your credit rating, i don't know what to do. My gut says just lower the limits, cause i don't need all that available credit and definately won't use it, but don't want it to look bad on credit file by reducing them!0
