MP4 Video - Need to increase audio volume

I have a couple of videos from a relative who filmed a special family event and am putting them onto a DVD to be played on DVD players. I've managed to do this using Cyberlink's Power Producer (free with my PC's bluray drive). The problem is that the audio track is extremely quiet.
Does anybody know of a way to dub the track (or amplify the volume)? I can load the audio track into Goldwave and adjust the volume but I now need a Video/DVD authoring package that will allow me to dub this over the video. I had a quick play with Movie Maker but that didn't seem to support MP4. I have Win 7 64.
As this is a one off, would prefer a freeware solution.
Thanks.

Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.

Have just tried Movie maker again and I seem to be making progress (don't know why it didn't work previously). Hopefully I'll be able to do what I want it to do.
I'll post another reply if I get a problem.Never let it get you down... unless it really is as bad as it seems.0 -
Try using the free AviDemux from:
http://fixounet.free.fr/avidemux/download.html
It can handle input and output of MP4 and has an option for increasing the volume.
It can also 'dub' the audio you made louder back onto the original video.
