Moving into a newbuild

currently have both my gas and electric on standard British Gas tarriffs, I will be in a 4 bed terraced house going from an 80 year old 2 bed flat.

Had a look at uswitch and the best deal seems to include a standing charge, can't see any standing charge on my British Gas bils

I am considering just moving the tariff I am on to the new property, then monitor what I use over a full calendar month I think this would give me a better idea of comparing like for like before switching.

Anyone any advice on moving to a newbuild or comments about the supplier first utility?

All new builds I see, the developer has done a deal with one supplier for the whole estates, mostly its for both gas and electric. Register your start readings as you move in with the supplier as the meters may not be on zeros, especially the electric meters. You have the usual switch times of between 4-6 weeks. It looks like you are currently on a no standing charge option with BG, ( standing charge built into the units ) For normal users there is no difference in standing or no standing charge
